Why is there no public price?
Pricing is scoped to your organization’s edition, scale, and implementation needs. Your proposal states the capabilities, services, limits, and commercial terms — so you see what is included before you commit.
Do we need to buy modules separately?
No. Each Datum edition includes its standard modules. We help you choose the edition that fits your business and agree the implementation, support, and Dot usage terms. Any company-specific custom modules are scoped and quoted separately.
What is included in our proposal?
Your proposal identifies your edition and its included capabilities, company and user coverage, implementation services, Dot usage terms, and support arrangements. Any custom development and associated costs are clearly identified.
What if we need a specialized workflow or custom module?
We first review whether your edition’s standard capabilities and existing settings, permissions, and approval controls meet the need. Where additional capabilities are required, we can develop custom modules for your company, with requirements, cost, delivery, and ongoing support agreed separately.
Are there implementation or onboarding fees?
Your proposal specifies the onboarding and implementation work, its scope, and its cost before you commit.
Is there a contract or minimum term?
Your proposal sets out the agreement term, billing frequency, any minimum commitment, and renewal and cancellation conditions before you commit.
How are users and usage covered in the price?
Your proposal specifies the companies and users covered, the basis for the charges, and any usage allowances, limits, or additional charges. Dot consumption is metered, with its terms identified in the proposal.
Is Dot unlimited?
No. Dot usage is metered. Any included allowance, additional consumption charges, and applicable limits are defined in your proposal.
How long until we get a proposal?
After the walkthrough, we confirm the information needed and agree when to return your proposal. Timing depends on the implementation, integrations, and any custom development that need to be assessed.
Can we use Datum Accounting or keep QuickBooks or Xero?
Datum supports a native accounting foundation and external accounting connections where available. We confirm the supported path for your chosen edition, which system owns the books, which records will synchronize, and the implementation scope before you commit.
Which Datum edition is right for us?
Standard brings together purchasing, inventory, sales, project delivery, and accounting. Millwork adds specialist workflows for millwork projects and production. Finance is designed for multi-book consolidation and reporting across multiple companies and currencies. We review your requirements during the walkthrough to identify the appropriate edition.
Can we manage more than one company?
Yes. Your proposal defines the companies covered. Authorized users can switch between the companies they have access to using one identity, with each company’s records and permissions kept separate.
Is onboarding self-serve?
Datum uses guided onboarding to map your workflows, prepare agreed data imports, configure controls, and help your team get started. The scope and cost are identified in your proposal.
What data can we bring across from our current system?
We review your source data and agree which records and opening balances to migrate based on your edition and the supported import paths. Your implementation scope identifies the data preparation, mapping, validation, and any specialist migration work required.
How long does it take to go live?
Timing depends on your edition, data readiness, integrations, and any custom development. We agree the rollout stages and an indicative timeline after reviewing your requirements.
How does Dot use our company data?
Dot uses relevant company records and documents to answer questions, assist with imports, and prepare work for review within the current company’s permissions. Company context, preferences, and feedback help make that assistance more relevant. Proposed actions follow Datum’s business rules and approval controls.
What happens to our data if we leave?
Your business data remains yours. The applicable agreement sets out how to request or obtain an export, the available formats, and the period for accessing your data when the service ends. We clarify those arrangements before you commit. Records held in a connected accounting product remain subject to that product’s access and retention terms.
